Facelift Coming

I've enlisted the help of my Software Engineer husband to help me get things spiffed up around here so that I can keep things updated with more ease and less duplication. In a few months, we'll hopefully be unveiling our new interface!

Farmer's Market

It's that time of the year: peach pie, apple tarts, zucchini bread and crisp ears of corn that are so sweet you sigh after the first bite.

In my experience, the best place to pick up fresh produce for cooking is from local growers. I love fruit stands and farmers markets! Every time I stop the car to buy apples, my kids want to jump out and help me point and ask, "How much?" There is something magical about this time of the year, when the earth is giving forth food in abundance, that speaks to children.

Last Friday I took my kids to the Thanksgiving Point Farmers market (http://www.thanksgivingpoint.com/events/farmers_market.html) and they loved every moment of it. From the colorful merchants to the uniquely colored tomatoes (we bought both yellow and black in addition to the traditional red) to their favorite part of the market, the free samples in abundance, the kids loved it!

We also got a business card from the man who sold us the tomatoes for a pick-your-own opportunity at his farm. If I can find that information, I'll post it for others to take kids and participate in the joy of harvest. Do you have a favorite fruit stand? Pick-your-own farm? Farmer's market? Let me know!

A Peek Inside

FunToDo.org is proud to present our newest feature: a photo gallery! Now you can journey through the Springville Art Museum or visit Thomas the Tank Engine from the comfort of your own home. You can use this tool to familiarize yourself with the local attractions or to decide if a certain venue is really kid-friendly enough for your family.

Either way, check it out at http://www.funtodo.org/gallery.php

We'll be updating it as regularly as we can so check back. Also, I'd love to highlight your photography here, too. If you have some photos (with or without kids: your call) please email them over to me and I'll credit you in the photo description. Together, we can do so much more!
